ピッコマ-人気漫画や話題のコミックが毎日読めるマンガアプリ: Manga Reader

Piccoma is a manga reading application by Kakao piccoma Corp. that provides access to a large catalog of comics, including shonen, shojo, seinen, and josei titles, with a model that lets users read chapters for free after waiting a set period. The app has been downloaded over 50 million times and offers a mix of mainstream adaptations, original webtoons, and light novels, positioning itself as a comprehensive platform for Japanese and Korean comic content. Its core mechanic, "Wait and Read for Free," unlocks new chapters across multiple titles simultaneously after a 23-hour cooldown, which encourages readers to follow several series at once without direct payment.

Beyond the free waiting system, the service includes more than 5,200 exclusive or early-release titles that are only available through the platform, many of which can also be read on the wait-based model. The app also features SMARTOON, a full-color, vertical-scrolling format optimized for smartphone screens, which delivers a more immersive reading experience compared to traditional page-based comics. Users can purchase individual chapters or entire volumes using coins, with bonus coin incentives for same-day volume purchases and pre-orders, although certain items like magazines and works under 200 coins are excluded from these bonuses.

Version 8.6.0, released on September 30, 2026, introduces minor fixes according to the update notes, maintaining the app's stability without adding major new features. The current build also includes the "Bakuyomi ¥0" program, which distributes 100 free binge-reading tickets every Monday, allowing users to read up to 30 chapters per eligible title per week at no cost. Regular events, such as bingo games, quizzes, and attendance rewards, provide additional opportunities to earn coins and access paid content without spending money.

This app is ideal for manga enthusiasts who enjoy reading multiple series simultaneously and are willing to wait for free chapters, as well as fans of exclusive or early-release content. It also suits readers who prefer full-color, vertically scrolling comics (SMARTOON) and those who want to save money by using daily tickets and weekly binge-reading programs.

To maximize free reading, check the 'Bakuyomi ¥0' section every Monday to claim your 100 weekly tickets, and use the ¥0+ tickets you receive daily on high-priority titles to avoid waiting.

Piccoma is a robust manga app that offers a generous free tier through its wait-based system and weekly ticket programs, backed by a vast catalog and exclusive titles. While the wait times and Japanese-centric interface may not suit everyone, its legal content, regular bonuses, and SMARTOON innovation make it a compelling choice for dedicated comic readers. Best for those who can adapt to the freemium rhythm.
