ESPN: Sports Scores, News & Live Streaming

ESPN is a sports app by Disney that delivers live scores, breaking news, personalized highlights, and streaming of games and shows from ESPN networks. It solves the problem of having to jump between different sources for scores, news, and live video by combining them into a single hub. You can follow your favorite teams and leagues, get real-time alerts, listen to ESPN Radio and podcasts, and stream thousands of live events and on-demand content, though some programming requires a paid subscription and availability varies by region. The app also includes a multiview feature that lets you watch up to four live events at once on a compatible screen, and a personalized SportsCenter feed tailored to your interests. It is a free download with ads, and it requires Android 7.1 or higher.

What's New

With this update, you can now stream up to four live, curated events at once on one screen using the Multiview feature. Additionally, vertical (Verts) content now includes dedicated sports, team, league, and player pages, making it easier to find related content.

This app is for sports fans who want a single destination for scores, news, highlights, and live streaming. It suits beginners who are new to sports apps because the interface is straightforward, and you can easily pick your favorite teams to personalize the experience. If you enjoy watching games on the go, following multiple leagues, or listening to sports talk radio, this app covers those needs. It's also useful for cord-cutters who want to stream ESPN networks, though a paid plan may be needed for full access. The multiview feature is great for fans who like to track several games at once.

Set up your favorite teams and leagues during the initial setup to get the most relevant scores and alerts. For live streaming, check if your subscription includes the network you want, and be aware of blackout restrictions in your region. You can opt out of Nielsen measurement in the app's settings if you prefer not to contribute to market research.

ESPN is a robust sports companion that brings scores, news, and streaming together in one place. It's a practical choice for beginners and enthusiasts alike, though you'll need to manage ads and possible subscription requirements.
