Platformers have always been near and dear to my heart, but especially two-dimensional platformers. There’s just something about running to the right, jump puzzles, precision button pressing, and vaulting over obstacles that really appeals to me; and the wonderous 2D perspective has always given birth to some fantastic artwork.
Enter Rayman Origins. When the very first Rayman debuted back in September of ’95 on the PlayStation One, we knew Michel Ancel had created something special. Now, finally, after the brand name has been slapped on a wide variety of different games in a wide variety of different genres, some not even staring the titular character, here we are again. Back at the beginning.
You know what? I’m just going to let this trailer do the talking… Michel has returned.
When you’re done watching that, come on back to check out more E3 coverage as it happens!
